Nothing new on pro version for me!!! Its totally useless. I thought there has stereo channel on settings thats why I purchased it but rode said, u have to use different mic for that feature! Then why rode advertising about stereo channel on their video and image screenshot!!!!!!!! I am disappointed at rode this time.

Once record there is no way in the app delete the files!! Thats crazy.

The app doesnt detect my Blue Nessie mic, only my iPads built-in on. Whats the most important part of a recording app? Well, being able to record! I submitted a help request over a month ago and never got a response. I threw away $6.99 on this app. Dont make the same mistake I did. Spend your money elsewhere.

Been using this app since it was FiRe by Audiofile, and never had any issues with it and the iXY. Sadly, either iOS 10 or my new iPhone 7 have borked things. The mic is detected but the app refuses to see any signal from it. Works fine in AudioShare however, though its stuck on 48kHz in that app. Hopefully Rode can fix this soon.

First off, I purchased the Rd IXY-L and am using an Iphone 6s+. Good sound quality over all for the recording options. It just doesnt work well WITH ios. For example, you cant video record on the iphone and use the rode mic, because it switches to stock mic. Also, sharing options dont allow to send through text messages (seriously?). The rode mic is pretty limited to only the rode app, which could be better. $5.99 is intense for what the app actually does. Im sure the free version would suit everyone better.

The app works great and allows you to record and control your recordings with many options and output formats. Its working great for me (iPhone 6, iOS 10.x). Ive used it with the iPhones built in mic as well as a wired Lab and a Röde Video Mic with very good results. It allows you to vary your gains and boost, apply filters to minimize hiss and even shape the sound a bit, like making it warmer or brighter sounding. Pros: it gives you the basics of a professional field recorder without having to carry one. The app capabilities are very good. Cons: the app interface is... ummmm, challenged. It is poorly designed from a usability standpoint, but works. Its just quirky and a bit dated, but it is easy enough to use. Example, on the record screen it shows you a live levels gauge, this is great so you can avoid clipping and set your gains appropriately. The issue, to set those levels you go to another screen and the live levels disappear. Really Röde? That type of thing. There are some settings that can make your internal mic not function, but going back into the app and changing those brought everything back to normal - but I could see this confusing some people. Easy to correct though. Overall, an excellent app and field recorder, great features albeit with a poorly designed user interface. The results I e achieved on voice overs and narrations have been excellent, as well as on the fly field recording. Highly recommended.

Cannot record! This app worked great for a minute and now refuses to record audio. Cannot do its most basic function! Please stand by your product RODE and fix this!

Downloaded the App. Didn’t really like it. IMPOSSIBLE to get a refund!! Clicked “Report a Problem” several times. The only response I got was a RECEIPT for$5.99. Refund process EXTREMELY convoluted and confusing.

The purpose of the app is to record. It used to work all the way back to when it was known as Fire. Now wont work at all and no fix - I am not going to use any more. Deleting the app forever

This is my go-to recording app for recording stereo music and other events using my Shure MV 88 stereo midside mic on my iPhone 6s+. After I set the microphone pattern up in Motiv, the settings remain active in the iPhones background, I then record in Rode Rec. this app performs perfectly dependably and is very flexible. Editing and exporting are very easy thanks for a nice app.

Rode sells equipment that you have to pay for the app independently (smartlav+) which is already a really unpleasant policy. The expensive app in question is very badly developed and encounters crashes that can even cause YOUR DATA LOSS! This is totally UNACCEPTABLE for a brand pretending offering professional solutions, and the range of prices that goes with that argument).

The app works just fine. And no you cant monitor while recording 96kHz because of the lag but you can do so at 48kHz.

Thankfully not while recording but the app still crashes pretty often when idle or during playback

Some files that are exported by link are missing parts. Please, fix that.

Since iOS8 the app does not work. Fix it, since it is not free!
