If it was the best voice recorder in appstore, I wouldnt mind. But its not. Buggy and slow. I live the Røde mic, but this app is a joke.

Best app to record voice. You can hear what you record on phones in real time. I love it.

Good idea behind but now this app is half useful. Some elements of interface have wrong orientation, interface in general is wrong on iPad - how do you imagine using it in portrait orientation (landscape orientation only available in editor) with external sound card plugged in interface port? Waveforms in editor do not update after editing, so you cant really see what youre doing. Crashes unexpectedly from time to time.

an app crashes, i can not export my audio... support doesnt answer. shame!

Uselessly paid money. Ive bought the app and the mic smartlav but it doesnt record the sound! I hate rode app and Im disappointed with it. The lite version records and full doesnt! Crap.

upd: Just checked a new version – recorded 1.5 hour session, press Stop – got 8 minutes recording. Please fire the team who did this. Seriously, guys! - its 2015 going to end – this app has UI from 1995! Im not talking only about authetics but usability as well. - why the hell cant it record straight to .wav? To export 1GB record I need 1GB of free space more and a lot of time! - "Prevent sleep" option – is there any use case when I need the recording go to sleep after 1 minute?? Yesterday Ive lost my concert rec because of this option turned off by default. - and about the Rode iXY mic: Ive got one, sounds fine, but very very noisy. Think twice before purchase.

Tested with iPhone and iPad: it does not recognize iXY input device and eventually crashes.

...it crashes very often! Need support for the control center in iOS, and probably needs some improvement with the GUI! So please developers, since I love this app, its very usefull to me, and since I paid it just...enought! Please update it! Thanks!

the mic is good, isnt an entry level mic but is much more oriented to wide freq range field recording, than single instruments recording despite of what Rode site and Adv say. I use it with loopy and the difference between iPad integrate mic and iXY is really noticeable! the problem is that without this really poor coded App it cant be used for record 96Khz and 24 audio, with loopy It record 16bit and 44.00 KHz, and 16 bit it far than professional. App is really poor, It do not response to device orientation, at least on iPads, so its unusable, and a steal for its price. the mic isnt as silent as Adv says and shows, compared to internal iPad mic, internal one as more more more gain, iXY is more silent,at hight gain values, but without its App Its price is really overrated considering that zoom h2 costs near the same, and isnt only a Mic.

Su iPhone 6 Plus lapp crasha in continuazione e presenta problemi nella visualizzazione. Pessima. On iPhone 6 Plus the App crashes continuously and it shows problems in the layout. Very bad.

I want my money back. Its a $6 waste of space on my phone. No part of it works as it should. Steer clear and use Garage Band of you plan on buying an iXY. Shame too because the mic is fantastic.

App is buggy and NOT intuitive. First thing, get 5 people to come to your office who havent seen the app and watch them try to use it. Then, stop charging us $6 when we already spent $80 on a tiny lav mic. Ive owned a few rode products in the past and this has me re-thinking future purchases.

Im really sad and disappointed I purchased a smartlav+ and this app in the hopes of getting better audio on some of my videos... Unfortunately many times while recording with the rode Rec and the Smartlav+, the mic would activate Siri (or voice command of Siri is disabled) and stop recording with. I warning what so ever. This was very frustrating since 99% of the time it meant starting over at the end of long takes after realizing no sound was recorded... If I talked for 20 minutes it could literally freeze and fail a minute in, making the next 19 minutes a waist of time... Unfortunately there is just no way to trust this combination. I and would highly suggest that people stay away from both... I really feel like I got ripped off on both ends, the smartlav doesnt have very good sound quality to begin with, but the rode rec app is supposed to help over come some of its limitations... Unfortunately this voice/siri activation bug is a total show stopper

March 15 with the latest iOS and this app has caused me no problem at all. I think it includes the ability to do a lot with editing the audio. No bug problems yet. I’m using it on an iPhone 5 with no sim, so its being used as a dedicated recorder. Perhaps Rode has addressed some of the issues that I read in these reviews. And…let’s face it…its a great value for 6 bucks.

This app is terribly glitchy and a complete waste of time and money. Heed all of the negative reviews and DO NOT BUY.

Cool program on the iPhone but the interface for the iPad is still broken as of April 2015. You have to constantly rotate between landscape and portrait to record or edit. Nearly garbage in its current form on the iPad.

Wow! The free version actually records the entire time! The paid version just screwed up about 30 min of recording because the screen on my phone went black, therefor the app canceled itself... Fix your dang app guys! Come on!
