Would not buy for iPad. Latest update messed up the formatting for the screen. Dissatisfied with this purchase.

Formatting is messed up and makes the app unusable...

After latest update (iOS 8.1) all buttons are displaced. In horizontal position "record" and "play" buttons totally disappeared, in vertical position these buttons partly visible but unresponsive. And some other elements of interface disappeared. (I use program both on iPad Air and iPad mini retina display).

Exactly same problem.

Fix the app! Please!!!! No Record or Play button on horizontal orientation (ipad 5). Vertical orientation shows Record and Play buttons but squashed and messed up. No Cutting or Clipping options when highlight portions of sound to edit. Ver frustrating, because the sound it excellent...but completely unusable.

Please Fix it, the app crashes everytime I export a file. Also please remove the automatic low cut function because once a clean file is exported with a 80hz cut it sounds like an underwater recording. Keep it simple and make it flawless! Thanks!!!

The sound is very good, perfect for my smartlav+

When its working fine its great. I hook my turntable up to it and transfer my 45s, then send them to Dropbox. It does have a tendency to freeze after the last update.

App is well designed and was worth the money but once updated its almost as if they dont want you using any other mic then the rode mic...it no longer recognizes my apogee MIC and the record button is no longer highlighted...emailed rode and they said if Im using a different mic they cant help me...tried everything...onto another app I guess

I recently had the app randomly stop thirty minutes into an hour voiceover recording. It was extremely embarrassing to tell the client we had to re-record... If you have or plan on buying the app make sure you consistently monitor the input to make sure its recording properly.

The last update (June/July 2015) introduced some bugs... Its not as good now. It freezes from time to time and, when it worked and was recording, the waveforms were glitchy. It stopped recording 5 mins in on my first look sequence so Ive lost all that audio. The app was much more reliable before the last update. Now Im weary of using it in the field for future projects.

I was very hesitant to purchase the app because of previous reviews, but I think it works great!! Sound quality is great, exporting goes smoothly (even for 1-hour long recordings), its simple to use, sound levels can be adjusted, etc. I had a low budget for audio, so Im extremely happy with the results thus far.

Purchased to record off camera audio with a wired rode lapel mic, the app wont even let me start recording. Total garbage.

Just fix all the bugs and crashes. Or at least give me something that can reliably record at highest resolution. That was the reason i bought the mic. Do the right thing and save your brand.

Works great with standard usb sound cards. I was able to record over 5.5 hours one shot. Keeps recording even when screen is locked. Tested on iPad mini.

I recorded 24 mins of audio and now I cant export it off my phone. The app just sits idle when I hit dropbox or even file transfer. Please fix and update for IOS 9 asap.

RodeRec is good for more than just use with their SmartLav mic. I use it with a tascam device to record wedding audio from the board. Best feature: live waveform while recording really helps setting levels. Worst feature: it randomly takes up all the space on your device as shared files accumulate in the app, even after you delete the recording. Also, the share menu doesnt work in iOS 9 yet, an update is needed.

Ive used this app for 5 minutes and it crashed 3 times. Cant figure out how to monitor the volume on earphones (if its possible) and you cant email over a certain size file (20 seconds at 96k) but Ive look everywhere for the setting to change it with no luck. I bought the rode ixy mic for $250 and I still had to pay 6.99 for this junk app. Will be looking for something else to record from this mic, which I heard was great. I guess these guys make mics well, not software. Dont waste your money.

Quite possibly the worst recording app Ive ever used. TWICE in FIVE times of using it, the app cut out during a recording. I had space left on my phone, there was no explanation for it. Piece of crap. Both times when I was recording for a client. This app has literally cost me money and reputation. Anyone know a better alternative? Mic seems fine but this app is garbage.

I am not experiencing any of the issues that the other reviewers have brought up. I use it to record live off the floor jam sessions that I can then edit and upload to Dropbox. I use a 70 dollar IRig mic and the recording quality turns out great and very clear. It occasionally crashes after editing large files but Ive never lost any data and just have to restart the app.
